How to Play

Desktop: WASD to move, mouse to look, Space to jump, left click to mine and right click to place blocks. Use the number keys or scroll wheel to choose hotbar items, E for inventory and crafting. The shared world saves every block edit automatically; an offline copy is available if the server cannot be reached.

These are the controls for Nomae Craft. The external Nomae Craft version on GitHub Pages may use slightly different controls.

About Nomae Craft

Nomae Craft is a voxel sandbox that runs in the browser and, unusually, gives everyone the same world. There are no rooms or invite codes: open the page and you are in one persistent server where every block edit, chest, furnace and player save is stored. The longest-connected player’s browser runs the simulation and hands it over when they leave, and if the server cannot be reached you can keep playing an offline copy of the world.

The world itself is generous. It generates 14 biomes, rivers, caves, lush caves, ores and floating sky islands with waterfalls and glowing crystal ore. The shader-style look runs out of the box: real-time sun and moon shadows, screen-space water reflections, bloom, god rays, smooth lighting, waving foliage, fog and an atmospheric sky with clouds, stars, shooting stars and auroras. Everything visual — textures, models, terrain — is generated in code rather than loaded from an asset pack.

Survival has real teeth. You manage health, hunger, drowning and fall damage; mine through tiers, craft from a recipe book, build furnaces and chests, farm, sleep in beds, use TNT and bows, and deal with flowing water and lava, falling sand, leaf decay and crop growth. Pigs, cows, sheep and chickens wander the world, while zombies and skeletons burn at dawn and spiders hunt at night. There are also guns — pistol, assault rifle, shotgun and scoped sniper — crafted from iron, planks and gunpowder. A fan-made helper called Verity follows you, fights for you and answers questions like “where is iron?” or “how do I make a furnace”, though the README warns that leaving her alone in the dark for too long changes her.

Nomae Craft is built with Claude Code and Claude Opus 5.5, with a Cloudflare Durable Object handling the shared world state. It is the most ambitious voxel project we have found in a browser this month: a shared persistent world, survival systems, weather, mobs, a character creator and a generative piano soundtrack, all without a download. Start in the daytime, punch a tree, and see how far the world goes — then try the sky islands, where the waterfalls fall into nothing.

How This Game Was Generated

Built with Claude Code and Claude Opus 5.5, according to the project. The shared persistent world is stored by a Cloudflare Durable Object, and the longest-connected browser runs the simulation until it hands over. Textures, models and terrain are generated in code; audio credits are listed in the repository.
